It is so good to see you!
We have changed the way we worship together, but our message and purpose are the same. We are excited to spend this time together to strengthen each other and build one another up in Christ. Today, during worship, we will participate in The Lord’s Supper as a church family, as well as tithing and offerings. We are here to chat on Facebook, Youtube, through email, and through our Connect Card if you have prayer requests or would like to speak to a minister. We miss you and want to hear from you! While you’re worshipping from home, snap a picture and tag us on social media. We would love to see your face!
If you want to share prayer requests with us, or speak with a pastor, you can fill out our Connect Card online.

Whom Shall I Fear
You hear me when I call
You are my morning song
Though darkness fills the night
It cannot hide the light
Whom shall I fear
You crush the enemy
Underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
Though troubles linger still
Whom shall I fear
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
My strength is in Your name
For You alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I’m holding on to Your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful
And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I’m holding on to Your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful
You are faithful
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
You Never Let Go
Of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle
Of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back, I know You are nearAnd I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of meAnd I can see a light that is coming
For the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know You here on the earth
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me
Yes, I can see a light that is coming
For the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me
Always
But I will hold my ground
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the wayOh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, alwaysTroubles surround me, chaos abounding
My soul will rest in You
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the wayOh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
From You Lord, from You Lord
Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always
Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always, always
Place of Immeasurable
There is God who inhabits our praises and sings over us
Peace Be Still
I don’t want to be afraid
Every time I face the waves
I don’t want to be afraid
I don’t want to be afraid
I don’t want to fear the storm
Just because I hear it roar
I don’t want to fear the storm
I don’t want to fear the storm
Peace be still
Say the word and I will
Set my feet upon the sea
Till I’m dancing in the deep
Oh, peace be still
You are here so it is well
Even when my eyes can’t see
I will trust the voice that speaks
I’m not gonna be afraid
‘Cause these waves are only waves
Oh, I’m not gonna be afraid
I’m not gonna be afraid
I’m not gonna fear the storm
You are greater than its roar
I’m not gonna fear the storm
Oh, I’m not gonna fear at all, yeah
Peace be still
Say the word and I will
Set my feet upon the sea
Till I’m dancing in the deep, oh
Peace be still
You are here so it is well
Even when my eyes can’t see
I will trust the voice that speaks
Peace, peace, yes
Over me, yeah
Oh Jesus, let Your peace calm them
Oo-ooh, ooh
Let faith rise up
Oh heart believe
Let faith rise up in me
Let faith rise up
Oh heart believe
Let faith rise up in me
Let faith rise up
Oh heart believe
Let faith rise up in me, oh-ooh
Let faith rise up
Oh heart believe
Let faith rise up in me, yeah
Peace be still
Say the word and I will
Set my feet upon the sea
Till I’m dancing in the deep, Lord
Peace be still
You are here so it is well
Even when my eyes can’t see
I will trust the voice that speaks
Peace, peace, yes
Over me, yes Jesus
Oh, peace, peace, Lord
Over me, yeah, yeah

SERIES: Epic Life
Scripture: 1 Samuel 19:2-3
2 and warned him, “My father Saul is looking for a chance to kill you. Be on your guard tomorrow morning; go into hiding and stay there. 3 I will go out and stand with my father in the field where you are. I’ll speak to him about you and will tell you what I find out.”
Useful keys to handling conflict:
1 – Accept that we have an enemy that pushes people to bad conflict resolution, so understanding and patience are vital
2 – Knowing when to confront and when to walk away is crucial
3 – Exhibit a tremendous capacity to forgive
Conclusion
David is not perfect as we will see, but he can and does show us a good plan for dealing with conflict

Did you know that if you ask God to forgive you (and really mean it), He will forgive you! That’s amazing! So if you are mean to your sister, but you feel bad and ask God to forgive you, He does! When God forgives us of our sins, it wipes our hearts clean. We have a new start to share Jesus with others. BUT sometimes we get frustrated at others who have wronged us. Think of a time when someone hurt you or upset you? Did you forgive them? God tells us to “forgive others as he forgives us…” When you hold on to hurt feelings, your heart becomes hurt too. When we forgive others, our hearts are wiped clean too! Take your heart and marker, write the name or draw a picture of someone who has upset or hurt you. Now ask God to help you forgive that person, and pray for the person. Now take your tissue and wipe your heart clean!

Summary:
Read 1 Samuel 19:1-3 together as a family. King Saul wanted David gone. He was ready, he was angry, and he was ready to chase David down. Saul and David definitely had a conflict, and sadly because our world isn’t perfect, we will face conflict. So what do we do? First, we have to realize Satan wants us to react poorly to conflict, but we should react with patience and understanding. We have to think when someone is upset with us, “what is going on in their world?” “What is making them so upset?” There are often times when we get upset with someone and conflict arises because we are having a bad day. So when conflict arises and we have patience and understanding, it can change everything! Conflict can be considered as neither good or bad, it’s just something that happens. But the way we respond to conflict is what can make it good or bad. The second thing is we have to be willing to forgive. We know that people will have conflict with us, and because of that we need to be quick to forgive. I truly believe that when we are quick to forgive it can change the entire situation.
Let’s say you walk into school and your friend says that you’ve taken their pencil. You could respond in several ways, but let’s say you respond by yelling at them saying that they are the worst friend ever and this is your pencil! What do you think that’ll do? For starters, it’ll make matters worse. And I definitely don’t think they’ll listen to you when you want to tell them about Jesus. But what if you said, “hey, I’m not sure if this is your pencil. If it is, I’m sorry. I have some extra pencils. Do you need one?” Maybe they got angry because they aren’t prepared for school because they don’t have a pencil. Maybe they are embarrassed because they lost their only pencil. When you respond this way, and with forgiveness, it is truly showing them the love that Jesus gives!

Welcome to Real Thoughts!
Challenging Our Students to Engage and Go Deeper in Their Faith Through Thought Provoking Prompts and Ideas.
In light of our temporary shift to online platforms, we are still looking to provide students with the opportunity to dive into the text and explore the faith through these conversations, but with their families now! We encourage each of our students to engage in the main worship service with their families while using their YMJ’s (Youth Ministry Journals) to flush out how the conversation from stage relates to them and where they are in their faith walk. The hope is that, in so doing, students will find themselves more ready to engage in conversation about the lesson with those around them, having gained a better understanding of what it is that the lesson means to them. So, join us this week as we continue in the conversation on George Dillard’s new book Epic Life!
Key Passage:
Epic Life Study: Chapter Three
Room For Thoughts:
Food For Thought
- What is something silly you try to avoid at all cost?
- When you have to confront that thing, situation, or person what happens?
- The lesson today is on handling conflict. In the story, David sees a conflict approaching as a power hungry king sees him as a threat to his thrown and attempts to kill him. What happened?
- What can we learn from David’s response to conflict?
- There is a temptation for us to think we always have to approach conflict head on. When is this not true?
- Sometimes conflict is not our fault, but we are faced with it all the same. How do we understand what is going on in that person’s life and how to respond in a way that shows them that we are not against them but are for them?
- What is your natural response to conflict? Argue? Peacemaker?
- How might it be harmful if we approach conflict resolution poorly?
- When we understand that there is conflict between our sin and God, we look to see how God responded for a model for us, today. God saw our sin and the conflict that was our rebellious nature and chose to show us mercy. How can we approach conflict resolution in grace and mercy?
