It is so good to see you!
We have changed the way we worship together, but our message and purpose are the same. We are excited to spend this time together to strengthen each other and build one another up in Christ. Today, during worship, we will participate in The Lord’s Supper as a church family, as well as tithing and offerings. We are here to chat on Facebook, Youtube, through email, and through our Connect Card if you have prayer requests or would like to speak to a minister. We miss you and want to hear from you! This Is Amazing Grace
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness?
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings
Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You’ve done for me
Who brings our chaos back into order?
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter?
The King of Glory, the King of Glory
Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You’ve done for me
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy, worthy, worthy
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You’ve done for me
All that You’ve done for me
Another In The Fire
There’s a grace when the heart is under fire
Another way when the walls are closing in
And when I look at the space between
Where I used to be and this reckoning
I know I will never be alone
There was another in the fire
Standing next to me
There was another in the waters
Holding back the seas
And should I ever need reminding
Of how I’ve been set free
There is a cross that bears the burden
Where another died for me
There is another in the fire
All my debt left for dead beneath the waters
I’m no longer a slave to my sin anymore
And should I fall in the space between
What remains of me and this reckoning
Either way I won’t bow to the things of this world
‘Cause I know
And I know I will never be alone
There is another in the fire
Standing next to me
There is another in the waters
Holding back the seas
And should I ever need reminding
What power set me free
There is a grave that holds no body
And now that power lives in me
There is another in the fire
There is another in the fire
There is another in the fire
There is another in the fire
I can see
And I can see the light in the darkness
As the darkness bows to Him
I can hear the roar in the heavens
As the space between wears thin
I can feel the ground shake beneath us
As the prison walls cave in
Nothing stands between us
Nothing stands between us
And there is no other name
But the name that is Jesus
He who was and still is
And will be through it all
So come what may in the space between
All the things unseen
And this reckoning
I know I will never be alone
I know. Come on
I know I will never be alone
There’ll be another in the fire
Standing next to me
There’ll be another in the waters
Holding back the seas
And should I ever need reminding
How good You’ve been to me
I’ll count the joy come every battle
‘Cause I know that’s where You’ll be
People Get Ready
People get ready
There’s a train a comin’
You don’t need no baggage
You just get on board
All you need is faith
To hear the diesels hummin’
You don’t need no ticket
You just thank the Lord
So people get ready
There’a a train to Jordan
Picking up passengers
Coast to coast
Faith is the key
Open the doors and board them
There’s hope for all
Among those loved the most
There ain’t no room
For the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all mankind
Just to save his own
Have pity on those whose
Chances grow thinner
There’s no hiding place
Against the Kingdom’s throne
So people get ready
There’s a train a comin’
You don’t need no baggage
You just get on board
All you need is faith
To hear the diesels hummin’
Don’t need no ticket
You just thank the Lord
Give Me Jesus
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.
When I am alone,
When I am alone,
When I am alone,
Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.
When I come to die,
When I come to die,
When I come to die,
Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

SERIES: Epic Life
Scripture – 2 Samuel 11:1 &12:7
11 In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem.
7 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul.
Here are 4 things that need to be in place for us to go on this journey of seeking after God’s own heart:
- When God calls you to do something do it
- Don’t put yourself in situations that lead to places you know you shouldn’t go
- Accept that we will have to face our sin
- When we face our sin, do what David did and seek the Father’s forgiveness

CHAPTER 4: The Wrong Place and Time
SCRIPTURE: 2 SAMUEL 11:1 & 12:7
Open Activity (9:30-9:40 // 11:00-11:10):
Ask the group to do a series of different activities. See who does it and who doesn’t. At the end, ask each kid why they did or didn’t do the activity.
Worship (9:40-9:55 // 11:10-11:25):
Wherever I Go, Echo, Miracle
Large Group Lesson (9:55-10:10 // 11:25-11:40):
We have been talking about David, the guy who killed Goliath and later became king over Israel. David is described in the Bible as a man after God’s own heart. David wasn’t perfect, in fact he made a lot of mistakes, but he always tried to seek God. In today’s story David really, really messes up. David falls in love with a married woman, which he knows is wrong. In order to stay in love with this married woman, he sends her husband who is a soldier to the front line in battle since they were in the middle of a war. This can only result in one thing: death. So, David has two big mess ups, but yet God still loves him and describes him as a man after His heart. How? Let’s look and see what we can learn from this.
The first thing is, when God asks us to do something we should do it. David was king, so if his army was in a battle during war he should have been there. He should’ve been leading them, it was his job! And if he would’ve been doing his job, it would’ve kept him from his mistakes. He would’ve never seen the married woman, which means he would’ve never killed her husband. When we do what God asks us to do, it keeps us on His path and away from temptation.
The next thing we can learn is we must accept our sin. We often know we sin, but ignore it. We tell ourselves, “oh it was just one little lie, it’s not that bad.” Or we say things like, “yeah I messed up but what that person did is way worse.” However sin is sin, and we must accept when we sin and be willing to change. In the story David has a friend who comes to him and explains to him that he did wrong. David knows he did, but he also needs to realize this for himself. We need to surround ourselves with people who will help us, but also we need to have an open heart to realizing when we mess up for ourselves too.
Last but not least, when we face our sin may we seek God’s forgiveness. When we sin and accept it, God doesn’t want us to sit in our sin and think about what a terrible person we are. He wants us to accept the sin so we can seek forgiveness. We must first admit we have sin in order to ask Him for forgiveness and grace.
God wants you, He wants all of your mistakes all of your failures- every single piece of who you are. Don’t be afraid to come to Him with the best and worst parts of you. And at the end of the day, may we too be people who sought God’s heart through it all.
Discussion Questions (10:10-10:20 // 11:40-11:50):
- What are some things God has asked you to do that you didn’t do?
- What are some things that God asked you to do and you did do?
- How can you accept your sin?
- How can we seek forgiveness from God?
- How can you seek God’s heart this week?

Welcome to Real Thoughts!
Challenging Our Students to Engage and Go Deeper in Their Faith Through Thought Provoking Prompts and Ideas.
In light of our temporary shift to online platforms, we are still looking to provide students with the opportunity to dive into the text and explore the faith through these conversations, but with their families now! We encourage each of our students to engage in the main worship service with their families while using their YMJ’s (Youth Ministry Journals) to flush out how the conversation from stage relates to them and where they are in their faith walk. The hope is that, in so doing, students will find themselves more ready to engage in conversation about the lesson with those around them, having gained a better understanding of what it is that the lesson means to them. So, join us this week as we continue in the conversation on George Dillard’s new book Epic Life!
Key Passage:
Epic Life Study: Chapter Four
Room For Thoughts:
Food For Thought
- Have you ever seen something silly that you really wish you had not seen? What happened?
- Were you someone who would get caught up and about at bed time or someone who was always tucked in ready to go? What happened when you weren’t where you were supposed to be?
- The story of David and Bathsheba begins with David being at the wrong place and the wrong time. He was supposed to be out in battle, but chose to ignore his responsibilities to do what he wanted. What happens when you choose not to go somewhere you know you need to?
- What are some common reasons to choose not to go where you know you need to be?
- Just like with David there are consequences when we try and avoid stuff we need to do, and often, when we are not doing what we should be, the devil will use that time to try and further ensnare us in sin. How can we be sure to do and be where we need to be?
- When we mess up and avoid our responsibilities, what should be our next steps?
- It is tempting to what to ignore the responsibilities/mistakes, but the truth is if we do this the consequences will only ever grow. Its like a pile of dirty clothes. It already smells bad, but imagine if you left it out for months! It would stink so much more than before! What are three steps you can take to make sure that you will be held accountable if you should ever mess up?
- David had Nathan to keep him accountable to his actions, who do you have to help you? Cant think of anyone? Then, who might be a good fit?
- Go and ask that person if they would be willing to help you be accountable and to help you grow. I promise you will be surprised at how eager they will be to help.
