Miracle
Y’all ready?
We dismiss what we can’t figure out, oh why
I don’t have to see to believe in it
I know that it’s true ’cause I’m feeling it
I don’t need no one to agree with it, nah
There’s just too much proof in my life
In every mountain that You move
Oh, I love the way
That You do the things You do
No one can deny
What I’ve seen with my own eyes
So I thank You for every miracle
Showing off the wonders You designed, blows my mind y’all
I don’t have to see to believe in it
I know that it’s true ’cause I’m feeling it
I don’t need no one to agree with it
There’s just too much proof in my life
In every mountain that You move
Oh, I love the way
That You do the things You do
No one can deny
What I’ve seen with my own eyes
So I thank You for every miracle
In every mountain that You move
Oh, I love the way
That You do the things You do
No one can deny
What I’ve seen with my own eyes
So I thank You for every miracle
(Over and over and over and over again)
Over and over and over and over
(I see Your, I see Your, I see Your)
I see a miracle
In every mountain that You move
Oh, I love the way
That You do the things You do
No one can deny
What I’ve seen with my own eyes
So I thank You for every miracle
In every mountain that You move
Oh, I love the way
That You do the things You do
No one can deny
What I’ve seen with my own eyes
So I thank You for every miracle
So I thank You for every miracle
See A Victory
When the darkness falls, it won’t prevail
‘Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph
My God will never fail
Oh, my God will never fail
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord (oh yeah)
Every war He wages He will win
I’m not backing down from any giant
‘Cause I know how this story ends
Yes, I know how this story ends
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
Gonna worship my way through, hey
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to You, Lord
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good
You’re turning it around
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And You turn it for good
You turn it for good, oh
I Am Resolved
I am resolved no longer to linger
Charmed by the world’s delight
Things that are higher
Things that are nobler
These have allured my sight
I will hasten to Him
Hasten so glad and free
Jesus greatest highest
I will come to Thee
I am resolved to go to the Savior
Leaving my sin and strife
He is the true One
He is the just One
He hath the words of life
I am resolved to follow the Savior
Faithful and true each day
Heed what He sayeth
Do what He willeth
He is the living way
I am resolved to enter the kingdom
Leaving the paths of sin
Friends may oppose me
Foes may beset me
Still will I enter in
I am resolved
And who will go with me
Come friends without delay
Taught by the Bible
Led by the Spirit
We’ll walk the heavenly way
Oceans
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

Worship Songs:
Summary:
Resolve can be a hard word to understand, because we can’t really connect a lot of examples to the word. Resolve means to decide firmly on a course of action, then to stick to it. Daniel did this by deciding not to partake in the royal food and wine. He wanted to stay true to who God was and who God called Him to be. He wanted to stay faithful despite what was going on around him, despite his circumstances. This lesson is important for us, because we too should live a life of resolve. We should stand firm in our course of action to follow Jesus. We talked about how resolve takes the following: a deliberate intention to be faithful in trusting the Lord, a deliberate intention to hope in the Lord, and decision and action. When following Jesus we must have purpose to follow through our discipleship. We must want Him over everything else.
Activity:
Play the floor is made of lava, make an obstacle course, or make a maze. When going through whatever course you choose, make sure you are firm in the decision you are going. See how different it feels and is when you are firm and sure of what you are doing. That’s how we should be in Christ!
Discussion Questions:
- What small steps can we take towards resolve in our world?
- When is a time you resolved to do something?
- How can you strengthen your resolve today?
Welcome to Real Talk!
Investing in the lives of our students through Real Conversations, with Real People, about Real Hard Questions of Faith.
These past few weeks, we have been trying out something new downstairs on Sunday Mornings. Real Talk was originally the brainchild of Jake Brown, the youth minister at Discovery Christian Church, designed with the hopes of encouraging students to lean into one another as they wrestle through questions about the text, that they may have otherwise just gone to a leader for an answer before looking for themselves. We believe that growth happens when we seek out Christ for ourselves, both individually and in community. Thus, it is the hope of us, here at PTC3, that Real Talk would provide students with an opportunity to take their faith into their own hands, as they invest in their relationship with Jesus, and walk alongside their peers through these questions and conversations.
In light of our temporary shift to online platforms, we are still looking to provide students with the opportunity to dive into the text and explore the faith through these conversations, but with their families now! We encourage each of our students to bring their families into these discussions and wrestle through the questions together, hopefully revealing areas of strength, hope, and growth for the family, as well as the individual. So, join us this week as we dive into Daniel 1:8 and explore the words of the prophets and learn what they mean for us today.
Question #1
What stands out about this passage to you?
Question #2
Daniel resolved in his heart not to defile himself. What does it mean to be resolved?
Question #3
When was the last time you resolved to doing something?
Question #4
What does resolve look like in our faith? How can our resolve for a Christ centered life affect our approach to each day?
Question #5
In our day to day lives, we are confronted with numerous opportunities to give in to the ways of the world and to ignore what we have been taught by God. Where are the areas in your life that you feel like your resolve wavers from time to time? How might you solidify your resolve in those areas?
Question #6
Resolution to abstain from something does not, necessarily, mean that those things are bad, but, rather, that you have made a conscious choice to stay away from them. What are some things that you have resolved to stay away from that may not be bad, but that you choose to keep at a distance anyways? Why? What affect has this played in your life?
Question #7
It is often difficult to resolve yourself to or away from something. This begs the question: What does resolve take? When you want to resolve yourself to something what does it require from you?
Question #8
Daniel’s faith caused him to stand out and gave him an opportunity to minister to those around him, even though he was simply doing what he had been taught to. It is when our faith is tested that our resolve is revealed. How has your resolve showed up when people questioned or challenged your faith?
Question #9
There is a stark difference between the ways of God and the ways of this world, as Daniel points out, and to live in the ways of God we must be resolute in our faith and commitment to Him. How, then, are you growing in your resolve for Christ? What are the practices of life that you are engaging in that serve to help you grow in your resolution?
