It is so good to see you!
We have changed the way we worship together, but our message and purpose are the same. We are excited to spend this time together to strengthen each other and build one another up in Christ. Today, during worship, we will participate in The Lord’s Supper as a church family, as well as tithing and offerings. We are here to chat on Facebook, Youtube, through email, and through our Connect Card if you have prayer requests or would like to speak to a minister. We miss you and want to hear from you! While you’re worshipping from home, snap a picture and tag us on social media. We would love to see your face!
If you want to share prayer requests with us, or speak with a pastor, you can fill out our Connect Card online.

Graves Into Gardens by Elevation Worship
I searched the world
But it couldn’t fill me
Man’s empty praise and treasures that fade are never enough
Then You came along
And put me back together
And every desire is now satisfied
Here in Your love (Hey)
Oh, there’s nothing better than You
There’s nothing better than You
Lord, there’s nothing
Nothing is better than You
I’m not afraid
To show You my weakness
My failures and flaws
Lord, You’ve seen them all
And You still call me friend
‘Cause the God of the mountain
Is the God of the valley
There’s not a place Your mercy and grace
Won’t find me again
Oh, there’s nothing better than You
There’s nothing better than You
Lord, there’s nothing
Nothing is better than You
You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory
You’re the only one who can (Come on)
You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory (Tell ’em now)
You’re the only one who can (Let’s turn the graves)
You turn graves into gardens
You turn bones into armies
You turn seas into highways
You’re the only one who can (He’s the only Lord)
You’re the only one who can
Oh, there’s nothing better than You
There’s nothing better than You
Lord, there’s nothing
Nothing is better than You
You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory
You’re the only one who can (Come on)
You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory (Tell ’em now)
You’re the only one who can (Let’s turn the graves)
You turn graves into gardens
You turn bones into armies
You turn seas into highways
You’re the only one who can (He’s the only Lord)
You’re the only one who can

Sinking Deep by Hillsong Young and Free
Standing here in Your presence
In a grace so relentless
I am won
By perfect love
Wrapped within the arms of heaven
In a peace that lasts forever
Sinking deep
In mercy’s sea
I’m wide awake
Drawing close
Stirred by grace and
All my heart is Yours
All fear removed
I breathe You in
I lean into Your love
Oh, Your love
When I’m lost You pursue me
Lift my head to see Your glory
Lord of all
So beautiful
Here in You I find shelter
Captivated by the splendor
Of Your face
My secret place
I’m wide awake
Drawing close
Stirred by grace and
All my heart is Yours
All fear removed
I breathe You in
I lean into Your love
Oh, Your love
Your love so deep
Is washing over me
Your face is all I seek
You are my everything
Jesus Christ
You are my one desire
Lord hear my only cry
To know You all my life
Your love so deep
Is washing over me
Your face is all I seek
You are my everything
Jesus Christ
You are my one desire
Lord hear my only cry
To know You all my life
I’m wide awake
Drawing close
Stirred by grace and
All my heart is Yours
All fear removed
I breathe You in
I lean into Your love
Oh, Your love

JUNE 28, 2020 | WEEK 2: Judge for Yourselves
Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:18-20
A few things to understand and accept:
+ People who want power are often unable to accept the truth- vs.18
+ The best thing that we can do is realize and accept where the real power is- vs.19
Ask yourselves some questions:
- Who made the Heavens and the earth?
- Who set in motion the plan to save humanity?
- Who sent Jesus to carry our sins from Bethlehem to the Cross?
- Who raised Jesus from the Dead?
- Who will send Jesus back to claim His redeemed?
- What is right in God’s eyes?
“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” Luke 12:25
Have this attitude in yourselves that was in Christ Jesus” and what was that attitude? “ that even though He was equal to God, He did not see that equality as something to be grasped or held onto, but He emptied Himself and became obedient to God. Philippians 2:5
+ When there is a power struggle, go with the higher power- vs.19&20
Let me tell you when there is a power struggle between the rules of society or culture and God – Always go with God –
+ Speak up and speak truth- vs.20
Go therefore and tell them the Good News and make disciples of them. Matt 28:19
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Tim.1:7
The Church, the kingdom of our King can not be silent about the power in this world and what it calls us to proclaim.
Justice, Grace, Mercy, Forgiveness and above all Love.
Conclusion:
You then be the Judges about what we should do!
Going Deeper Questions
- Can you identify some power struggles in the world around you?
- Share a time in your own life when you have stood up or spoken out for the truth?
- What was the result, what worked, what didn’t? If you had presented it differently would the outcome have been different .
- How important is motivation in our presentation?
- Do you think our circumstances should influence our speaking up/out?
- Can we allow circumstances to affect our presentation of the truth?
- What’s the difference between concern and worry? (Leaders: worry is an internal power struggle; trying to take something from God that is His (ie. whatever you are worrying about)… Jesus, however, asks us to be concerned about our fellow man (cf. the good samaritan)
- So how can we move from being worried to showing/having concern?
- How can you stand up and speak out effectively? Share a few examples.

Grab Your Gear:
Make a pinwheel!
Feel free to start by coloring your white sheet of paper. Next, cut your paper along the full black lines and the dotted black lines. Poke a hole using your gold paper fastener on the four corners with dots in them, and then the center of your paper. Then, create a hole in your straw. Twist your paper to create larger holes and connect your pinwheel to the straw through the hoel you created. Last, find a nice place outside and watch the wind do the work! When you see the windmill move with the wind, let it be a reminder of how God’s power should move you! Once we accept God’s power, He wants us to use it to do things for His Kingdom. So, be like the windmill and MOVE!
Songs:
Summary:
During the sermon, the main theme was power. Who has the greatest power? Where does our power come from? What is the truth about this power we speak of? All questions that have a simple answer of God. God has the greatest power, there is nothing that can overthrow Him because of who He is. Realizing that our power is found in God and not ourselves is a very important realization we need to make. Ask yourselves some questions: Who made the Heavens and the earth? Who set in motion the plan to save humanity? Who sent Jesus to carry our sins from Bethlehem to the Cross? Who raised Jesus from the Dead? Who will send Jesus back to claim His redeemed? What is right in God’s eyes?
We definitely didn’t do that all for ourselves. God did. He has the ultimate power, but He doesn’t keep it for Himself. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave lives in you! This power is meant to help you make disciples, love the people around you, and be a disciple of Jesus. This power helps us do what the last point said, speak up and speak the truth. When people are being made fun of, when people are hurt, when people are unsure of where to go- God calls us to speak up and speak through the power He has given us. The Church, the Kingdom of our King can not be silent about the power in this world and what it calls us to proclaim. And He calls us to proclaim His love, justice, mercy, and forgiveness for all!
Activity:
Try lifting a piece of paper. Now try lifting a book, next your heaviest toy. Last, try lifting one of your parents or oldest siblings. Probably too heavy, right? Our power ends while God’s does not. The power He gives may not help us with physical strength, but it does give us power to love, forgive, and show who Jesus is!
Discussion Questions:
- Have you ever had a time you felt like God gave you power to do something? What was it?
- Has there ever been a time you spoke out for the truth or for others? When was it?
- How can using the power God gives help you live your day to day life this week?

Welcome to Real Thoughts!
Challenging Our Students to Engage and Go Deeper in Their Faith Through Thought Provoking Prompts and Ideas.
In light of our temporary shift to online platforms, we are still looking to provide students with the opportunity to dive into the text and explore the faith through these conversations, but with their families now! We encourage each of our students to engage in the main worship service with their families while using their YMJ’s (Youth Ministry Journals) to flush out how the conversation from stage relates to them and where they are in their faith walk. The hope is that, in so doing, students will find themselves more ready to engage in conversation about the lesson with those around them, having gained a better understanding of what it is that the lesson means to them. So, join us this week as we continue in the conversation on the Book of Acts!
Key Passage:
Acts 4:19
Room For Thoughts:
Food For Thought
- Think of a time when someone tried to convince you of something you knew wasn’t true. What did you do? How did they respond?
- Often times, we are easily convinced of something simply because the people around us tell us that it is true. When we accept what others say without thinking for ourselves whether it is accurate or not we can find ourselves in some pretty awkward situations defending the beliefs of others without understanding them ourselves. Have you ever just accepted something someone said that turned out to be wrong? What happened when you found out it wasn’t true?
- In the world today, with all the free access to media and information, hundreds of opinions are being forced onto our feeds, tvs, and streams daily, everyone trying to convince each other that their opinion is the right one- especially in the political realm. How do you react when you see someone of differing opinions?
- Peter and John replied that, “we will decide what is right for ourselves by listening to God!” And that they would not simply believe and do whatever others told them to. How have you found their reply to be similar and different to the way you respond to differences between your beliefs and thoughts and others?
- How are you actively deciding for yourself what it is that you really believe?
- How are you testing your faith and coming to the realization of Biblical truths for yourself?
- How can you better approach people with differing beliefs than you in love and grace?
