It is so good to see you!
We have changed the way we worship together, but our message and purpose are the same. We are excited to spend this time together to strengthen each other and build one another up in Christ. Today, during worship, we will participate in The Lord’s Supper as a church family, as well as tithing and offerings. We are here to chat on Facebook, Youtube, through email, and through our Connect Card if you have prayer requests or would like to speak to a minister. We miss you and want to hear from you! While you’re worshipping from home, snap a picture and tag us on social media. We would love to see your face!

Raise A Hallelujah by Bethel Music
I raise a hallelujah in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah, Heaven comes to fight for me
I’m gonna sing in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive
I raise a hallelujah with everything inside of me
I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah, fear, you lost your hold on me
I’m gonna sing in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive
Sing a little louder (Sing a little louder)
Sing a little louder (Sing a little louder)
Sing a little louder (Sing a little louder)
Sing a little louder (Oh, sing a little louder)
Sing a little louder (In the presence of my enemies)
Sing a little louder (Louder than the unbelief)
Sing a little louder (My weapon is a melody)
Sing a little louder (Heaven comes to fight for me)
Sing a little louder
It Is Well by Hillsong
Grander earth has quaked before
Moved by the sound of His voice
Seas that are shaken and stirred
Can be calmed and broken for my regard
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And through it all, through it all
It is well
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And it is well with me
And far be it from me to not believe
Even when my eyes can’t see
And this mountain that’s in front of me
Will be thrown into the midst of the sea
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And through it all, through it all
It is well
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
The waves and wind still know His name
And it is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well
It is well with my soul
Oh it is well with my soul
Oh it is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well
It is well with my soul
It is well
It is well with my soul
It is well
It is well with my soul
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And through it all, through it all
It is well Lord
And through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And it is well with me
Made A Way by Travis Greene
Made a way
Don’t know how but You did it
Made a way
Standing here not knowing how we’ll get through this test
But holding unto faith You know that
Nothing can catch You by surprise
You got this figured out and You’re watching us now
But when it looks as if we can’t win
You wrap us in Your arm and step in
And everything we need You supply
You got this in control
And now we know that
You made a way
When our backs were against the wall
And it looked as if it was over
You made a way
And we’re standing here
Only because You made a way
You made a way
And now we’re here
Looking back on where we come from
Because of You and nothing we’ve done
To deserve the love and mercy You’ve shown
But Your grace was strong enough to pick us up
And You made a way
When our backs were against the wall
And it looked as if it was over
Lord You made a way
And we’re standing here
Only because You made a way
You made a way
When our backs were against the wall
And it looked as if it was over
Lord You made a way
And we’re standing here
Only because You made a way
And you move mountains
You cause walls to fall
With Your power
You perform miracles
There is nothing that’s impossible
And we’re standing here
Only because You made a way
You move mountains
You cause walls to fall
With Your power
Perform miracles
There is nothing that’s impossible
And we’re standing here
Only because You made a way
You move mountains
You cause walls to fall
With Your power
Perform miracles
There is nothing that’s impossible
And we’re standing here
Only because You made a way
And we’re standing here
Only because You made a way
And we’re standing here
Only because You made a way
You made a way
You made a way
You made a way
You made a way
Don’t know how but you did it
Made a way
Don’t know how but you did it
Made a way
King Of Kings by Hillsong Worship
In the darkness, we were waiting
Without hope, without light
‘Til from Heaven You came running
There was mercy in Your eyes
To fulfill the law and prophets
To a virgin came the Word
From a throne of endless glory
To a cradle in the dirt
Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
To reveal the kingdom coming
And to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation
You did not despise the cross
For even in Your suffering
You saw to the other side
Knowing this was our salvation
Jesus for our sake You died
Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
And the morning that You rose
All of Heaven held its breath
‘Til that stone was moved for good
For the Lamb had conquered death
And the dead rose from their tombs
And the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who’d come
To the Father are restored
And the church of Christ was born
Then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old
Shall not kneel, shall not faint
By His blood and in His name
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ
Who has resurrected me
Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
Praise forever to the King of Kings

June 21, 2020 | Week 1: Lord and Christ
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Acts 2:36
+ Jesus is King
If Jesus is King we must be about the King’s work:
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy, instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. Isaiah 61:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5
If Jesus is King {and He is} we must be about the King’s work:
- To proclaim good news to the poor.
- Help bind up the brokenhearted,
- To proclaim freedom for the captives
- Share release from darkness for the prisoners
- To comfort all who mourn
- Share the oil of joy
- Wear a garment of praise
- Live to display His splendor
+ Jesus is Savior
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! 15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. Hebrews 9:14-15
+ We follow no one but Jesus
Romans 12:1&2
But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Conclusion:
Who is Jesus to you?
- Philosopher?
- Teacher?
- Revolutionary?
- King and Redeemer?
You have the truth, you decide.
Going Deeper Questions
- What is one thing you cannot live without? (LEADERS: see if Jesus makes anyone’s list…if not discuss why not and/or how we make Him a priority.)
-
- What deserves more attention in your life, things that are temporary or things that last much longer?
-
- What should our attitude be about the temporary things in life? Why?
- 1 John 2:17 (NIV) “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
- 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV) “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
- What should our attitude be about the temporary things in life? Why?
- Why is it important to understand Jesus as both King and Savior?
- How would you describe your relationship with Jesus and its effect on your day to day life {every day walking around life}?
- What evidence is in your life to show that Jesus is your King?
- How do you describe your relationship with Jesus when you’re talking to somebody? (LEADERS ie. Saved?, are you a disciple?, a follower?, a Christian?, citizen of the Kingdom?, etc…)
-
- What way could you better evidence His Lordship?
- In our righteous distress, as talked about in the sermon, what actions should that lead us to?
Grab Your Gear:
Jesus is King and Savior! With the materials in your bag, or some you find in your house, make a crown and a cross to remind you of the truths learned today in church.

Summary:
Today we started a new series called Churched. This series is going to teach us all about the early Church, what they believed, and how we can apply the book of Acts to our lives. Today’s sermon is important, because it is the starting point which we can build upon as we continue to learn. We talked about how Jesus is King, Jesus is our Savior, and how we should follow no one but Jesus. It’s important to accept and live out these truths. If Jesus is our King, we must follow and do what He says- grow and make disciples, love one another, worship Him. We must accept Jesus is our Savior, because then we can accept that we are living a life free of sin. Jesus conquered that for us, and saved us from a life without Him! Once we acknowledge and accept these two things, we really have no other choice but to follow Him. Jesus calls us to follow Him if we have declared that He is our King and Savior.
Activity:
Play a couple of rounds of Follow the Leader. Discuss how sometimes it may be hard or easy to follow the leader, but it’s important to make the game work. The same is true in our relationship with Jesus. Sometimes following Him can be difficult, but it’s ultimately the best decision for our lives!
Discussion Questions:
- Who is Jesus to you?
- How would you describe your relationship with Jesus and how it affects your everyday life?
- How can you commit to following Jesus daily?
Welcome to Real Thoughts!
Challenging Our Students to Engage and Go Deeper in Their Faith Through Thought Provoking Prompts and Ideas.
In light of our temporary shift to online platforms, we are still looking to provide students with the opportunity to dive into the text and explore the faith through these conversations, but with their families now! We encourage each of our students to engage in the main worship service with their families while using their YMJ’s (Youth Ministry Journals) to flush out how the conversation from stage relates to them and where they are in their faith walk. The hope is that, in so doing, students will find themselves more ready to engage in conversation about the lesson with those around them, having gained a better understanding of what it is that the lesson means to them. So, join us this week as we continue in the conversation on the Book of Acts!
Key Passage:
Acts 2:36
Room For Thoughts:
Food For Thought
- Who is Jesus to you?
- Who is Jesus according to the Bible?
- How does the outside world see Jesus?
- This verse focuses on two key aspects of who Christ is; Lord and Christ. We hear them a lot in church but, what do you think these terms mean?
- Luke points out that these truths should be an assurance to us in our faith. How does knowing that Jesus is King and Savior reaffirm your faith?
- When do you feel like those aren’t true?
- How do you remind yourself that those titles are accurate when you are tempted to believe otherwise due to the circumstances around you?
