It is so good to see you!
We have changed the way we worship together, but our message and purpose are the same. We are excited to spend this time together to strengthen each other and build one another up in Christ. Today, during worship, we will participate in The Lord’s Supper as a church family, as well as tithing and offerings. We are here to chat on Facebook, Youtube, through email, and through our Connect Card if you have prayer requests or would like to speak to a minister. We miss you and want to hear from you! While you’re worshipping from home, snap a picture and tag us on social media. We would love to see your face!

O Come to the Altar
Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin?
Jesus is calling
Have you come to the end of yourself?
Do you thirst for a drink from the well?
Jesus is calling
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
Come today, there’s no reason to wait
Jesus is calling
Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy
From the ashes, a new life is born
Jesus is calling
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood!…
Isn’t He wonderful?
Sing hallelujah, Christ is risen
Bow down before Him
For He is Lord of all
Sing hallelujah, Christ is risen
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ!…
O come to the altar
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ!
Holy Spirit
That will ever come close, nothing can compare
You’re our living hope
I’ve tasted and seen, of the sweetest of loves
Where my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone
Your Presence Lord
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your Glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by your presence, Lord
That will ever come close, nothing can compare
You’re our living hope
Your Presence Lord
Where my heart becomes free, and my shame is undone
Your Presence Lord
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your Glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by your presence, Lord
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your Glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by your presence, Lord
Your presence Lord
Let us experience the Glory of Your Goodness
Let us experience the Glory of Your Goodness
Let us experience the Glory of Your Goodness
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your Glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by your presence, Lord
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your Glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by your presence, Lord
Yeah
Holy Spirit, you are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your Glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by your presence, Lord
Lord, I Need You
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You’re the One that guides my heart
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
Where grace is found is where You are
Where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
When temptation comes my way
When I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay
Every hour I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
Oh God, how I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
Your Love Defends Me
You are the well, the One I’m drawing from
You are my refuge, my whole life long
Where else would I go?
Your love defends me, Your love defends me
And when I feel like I’m all alone
Your love defends me, Your love defends me
I will remember, You’re with me in this fight
Although the battle, it rages on
The war already won
I know the war is already won
Your love defends me, Your love defends me
And when I feel like I’m all alone
Your love defends me, Your love defends me
You’re my portion
My salvation
Hallelujah
Your love defends me, Your love defends me
And when I feel like I’m all alone
Your love defends me, Your love defends me
Surely my God is the strength of my soul
Your love defends me, Your love defends me
And when I feel like I’m all alone
Your love defends me, Your love defends me
You’re my portion
My salvation
Hallelujah
You’re my portion
My salvation
You’re my portion
My salvation

JULY 5, 2020 | WEEK 3: How could we do anything else?
SCRIPTURE: Acts 4:32 – 5:9
Some things that we need to learn from this moment in time:
+ The Church should be about meeting people’s needs
Phil.2:4; counting others as more important than oneself.
+ The Church should always do what it says and say what it means – vs. 32
Peter is very clear, the problem is not that they kept some of the money, the problem is that:
1- they lied about it,
2- they cared more about themselves than others, and
3- it appears that they were more interested in receiving praise than giving praise.
+ The Church should desire to be honest before God
Conclusion:
The most important thing for us to remember is that we don’t have to do anything, in fact I like to say, God has done all the lifting, but we have the blessing of getting to do a lot!
- We get to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this world.
- We get to tell the world the Good News about Jesus and demonstrate how it change lives
- We get to stand in all of our flawed glory blameless if we can honestly say we have done our best.
- We get to live out our eternal lives in His Grace, Mercy, Forgiveness and Love.
We don’t have to, we get to!
Going Deeper Questions:
- So what is the difference between a need and a want? Discuss. {Leaders: Our wants/desires often come from a discontentment; but God is attentive to our needs… cf. Phil 4:19, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”}
- Have we developed contentment in our circumstances? (cf. Philippians 4:11-12)
- Share a few thoughts about the Ananias and Sapphira account and how it may affect your life of generous gift giving?
- Do you think from what you read do you think they understood the difference between wants and needs? Explain.
- Share a time in your life when you did something good for the wrong motivation? How does this apply to Ananias and Sapphira?
- How can the church do a better job of saying what it means {Leaders talk about sharing in love (Ephesians 4:15) ie in the right way tone, tenor, and methodology} and meaning what it says?
- When you hear the term honest, what does it make you think of?
- The church should desire to be more honest before God. How can we become more honest before God?
- When you hear the term situation ethics {def. the doctrine of flexibility in the application of moral laws according to circumstances} what comes to mind?
- What can I change in my life to be truly blameless, more honest, and transparent?

Grab Your Gear:
Needs and Wants Sort
In your bag you’ll find different pictures of needs and wants. Have your child sort the pictures into the needs or wants category. After sorting, talk about how not everyone has the needs on the list. As the Church, we are called to fulfill those needs and help the people around us. As a family decide how many needs you can meet together, then flip that number of needs pictures over. On the back you’ll find different ministries we support that you can serve!
Example: When you put the clothes on the “needs” side and flip it over, you’ll find a description of Jesus Place and how you can fill a need there!
Worship Songs:
Unshakeable Love by NorthPoint Inside Out
Summary:
The story of Ananias and Sapphira is a crazy one, but one we can really learn from! Ananias and Sapphira cared more about how they appeared then what God had called them to do. Through their story we learn a couple of things. First, the Church should be about meeting people’s needs. We as believers of God should feed the hungry, give clothes to those who have none, give to the poor, and so on. If someone has a need, it should be our goal to fill it in the name of Jesus! The second thing we learn is the Church should always do what it says and say what it means. Ananias and Sapphira did quite the opposite, they lied about what they were doing. If you say you’re going to give, give. If you say you love others, truly love others. That’s what God wants the Church to be about. The last thing we learn is the Church should desire to be honest before God. God knows it all anyways, so it should be our desire to be up front and honest when we have a conversation with Him. The thing is, Ananias and Sapphira looked at this giving thing all wrong. They felt like they had to give, they did it so people would notice them, and their relationship with God wasn’t mature enough for them to realize they had it all wrong. The most important thing for us to remember is that we don’t have to do anything, in fact I like to say, God has done all the lifting, but we have the blessing of getting to do a lot!
Activity:
Play Telephone! Grab at least two other people, (mom and dad, or any siblings) and sit in a line. Have the person at one end of the line think of a really long sentence. Then have them tell it to the next person only once, and see if that person can pass it on to the next person in line. Once the sentence reaches the end of the line, see if the last person in line can recite the sentence correctly. Rotate who gets to start the sentence. Play a few rounds and see how many times the last person can correctly recite the sentence. Discuss how it could have been hard to maybe not have the desire to be honest. Maybe your desire was more to be funny, or mess the game up on purpose. Even a small desire for dishonesty can take over the good we are trying to do.
Discussions Questions:
- What’s the difference between a need and a want?
- Based on the sermon, do you think Ananias and Sapphira knew the difference between wants and needs? Why?
- What are some ways you can be honest before God?

Welcome to Real Thoughts!
Challenging Our Students to Engage and Go Deeper in Their Faith Through Thought Provoking Prompts and Ideas.
In light of our temporary shift to online platforms, we are still looking to provide students with the opportunity to dive into the text and explore the faith through these conversations, but with their families now! We encourage each of our students to engage in the main worship service with their families while using their YMJ’s (Youth Ministry Journals) to flush out how the conversation from stage relates to them and where they are in their faith walk. The hope is that, in so doing, students will find themselves more ready to engage in conversation about the lesson with those around them, having gained a better understanding of what it is that the lesson means to them. So, join us this week as we continue in the conversation on the Book of Acts!
Check back soon for this week’s journal prompt!
