It is so good to see you!
We have changed the way we worship together, but our message and purpose are the same. We are excited to spend this time together to strengthen each other and build one another up in Christ. Today, during worship, we will participate in The Lord’s Supper as a church family, as well as tithing and offerings. We are here to chat on Facebook, Youtube, through email, and through our Connect Card if you have prayer requests or would like to speak to a minister. We miss you and want to hear from you! While you’re worshipping from home, snap a picture and tag us on social media. We would love to see your face!
If you want to share prayer requests with us, or speak with a pastor, you can fill out our Connect Card online.

Friend of God
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
He calls me friend
[Lead:]
Who am I that You are mindful of me
That You hear me, when I call
Is it true that you are thinking of me
How You love me
It’s amazing
[Choir sings lead verse]
[Chorus:]
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
He calls me friend
[repeat]
[Lead:] What a privilege it is
[Vamp:]
God almighty Lord of Glory
You have called me friend
It is Well
Moved by the sound of His voice
Seas that are shaken and stirred
Can be calmed and broken for my regardThrough it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
It is well with meFar be it from me to not believe
Even when my eyes can’t see
And this mountain that’s in front of me
Will be thrown into the midst of the seaThrough it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
It is well, it is well
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
The waves and wind still know His name
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well, with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well, with my soul
It is well, it is well, with my soul
It is well, it is well, with my soul
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
And it is well with me
See A Victory
The weapon may be formed, but it won’t prosper
When the darkness falls, it won’t prevail
Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph
My God will never fail
Oh my God will never fail
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
There’s power in the mighty name of Jesus
Every war He wages He will win
I’m not backing down from any giant
‘Cause I know how this story ends
Yes I know how this story ends
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And you turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And you turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And you turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And you turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And you turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And you turn it for good
You turn it for good
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
I’m gonna see a victory
I’m gonna see a victory
For the battle belongs to you Lord
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And you turn it for good
You turn it for good
You take what the enemy meant for evil
And you turn it for good
You turn it for good
Surrounded
This is how I fight my battles
There’s a table
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
At Your table
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
Nothing Else
I just want to sit here at Your feet
I’m caught up in this holy moment
I never want to leaveOh, I’m not here for blessings
Jesus, You don’t owe me anything
More than anything that You can do
I just want YouI’m sorry when I’ve just gone through the motions
I’m sorry when I just sang another song
Take me back to where we started
I open up my heart to You
I’m sorry when I’ve come with my agenda
I’m sorry when I forgot that You’re enough
Take me back to where we started
I open up my heart to YouI’m caught up in Your presence
I just want to sit here at Your feet
I’m caught up in this holy moment
I never want to leave
Oh, I’m not here for blessings
Jesus, You don’t owe me anything
And more than anything that You can do
I just want You
I just want You
Nothing else, nothing else
Nothing else will do
I just want You
Nothing else, nothing else
Nothing else will do
I just want You
Nothing else, nothing else
Nothing else will do
I just want You
Nothing else, nothing else, Jesus
Nothing else will do
I just want You
Nothing else, nothing else
Nothing else will do
I just want You
Nothing else, nothing else, Jesus
Nothing else will do
I’m coming back to where we started
I’m coming back to where we started
When I first felt Your love
You’re all that matters, Jesus
You’re all that matters
I’m coming back to what really matters
Just Your heart
I just want to bless Your heart, Jesus
I’m caught up in Your presence
I just want to sit here at Your feet
I’m caught up in this holy moment
I never want to leave
And oh, I’m not here for blessings
Jesus, You don’t owe me anything
More than anything that You can do
Oh, I just want You

SERIES: Epic Life
Scripture – 1 Samuel 17:8-10
8 Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly. “They have credited David with tens of thousands,” he thought, “but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?” 9 And from that time on Saul kept a close eye on David.
10 The next day an evil[a] spirit from God came forcefully on Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the lyre, as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand
Allowing ourselves to be used as God’s instrument requires:
- A realization that the giants in our path are not going away, they have to be faced and overcome.
- A willingness to bring God glory by simply answering the call.
- An unwavering belief that relying on God changes everything.
Conclusion
Our battle is not with flesh and blood (Eph.6:12), so why would we enter those valleys to face those Giants alone?
I would rather be God’s instrument than a warrior!

Summary:
So we are on this journey together to live an epic life for God! Today we will see how if we are willing to be God’s instrument, this will lead to an epic life. What does that mean? Well, to me, it means that there’s things God has for you that only you can do. Read 1 Samuel 18:8-10 to see what I mean. David was the only one who could defeat Goliath! People tried to stop him, maybe not physically but definitely with their words. David didn’t let that stop him from being used by God. So, what can we take away from this snapshot of David’s life? First, we have to realize that the giants in our path are not going away, they have to be faced and overcome. We can see David due this, because he takes five stones with him. He is going ready to fight, because he knows Goliath isn’t just going to go away. Second, we need a willingness to bring God glory by simply answering the call. David didn’t sit there and tell Him all the reasons why he shouldn’t fight Goliath, he just went. God is glorified when we say regardless of what everyone else is doing I will run to the battle that is placed before me. Last, we need an unwavering belief that relying on God changes everything. David only defeated Goliath because he went into battle with belief that God would bring him the victory. God will bring us victory too. Our battle is not with flesh and blood (Eph.6:12), so why would we enter those valleys to face those Giants alone? I would rather be God’s instrument than a warrior!
Activity:
Set up an obstacle course and run through it! There will be lots of things in your path and way, but knowing you can make it through the other side is the kind of confidence God brings to us in the battle!
Discussion Questions:
- What are some giants that stand in our path?
- How can we glorify God in our life?
- How does relying on God change everything?

Welcome to Real Thoughts!
Challenging Our Students to Engage and Go Deeper in Their Faith Through Thought Provoking Prompts and Ideas.
In light of our temporary shift to online platforms, we are still looking to provide students with the opportunity to dive into the text and explore the faith through these conversations, but with their families now! We encourage each of our students to engage in the main worship service with their families while using their YMJ’s (Youth Ministry Journals) to flush out how the conversation from stage relates to them and where they are in their faith walk. The hope is that, in so doing, students will find themselves more ready to engage in conversation about the lesson with those around them, having gained a better understanding of what it is that the lesson means to them. So, join us this week as we continue in the conversation on George Dillard’s new book Epic Life!
Key Passage:
Epic Life Study: Chapter Two
Room For Thoughts:
Food For Thought
- This chapter is called God’s Instrument. Have you ever played an instrument? If not, what stopped you?
- When you think of an instrument, what do you think of? What is its purpose?
- What does it mean that we are called to be instruments for God?
- What are some things that might stop you from thinking you could be part of God’s band (the church)?
- How can we be an instrument for God?
- While an instrument is great at conveying part of a song, the truth remains that, without the other instruments, the song would not be complete. How can we learn to be part of this “band” called church?
- Some instruments are big and make the most noticeable sounds while others simply blend into the background but the song wouldn’t be the same without them. Which one do you feel like you are? Why?
- Whether we are comfortable with it or not, just as every instrument can be heard in a song, so, too, are we meant to be heard and seen as members of the church. What might this look like in your life?
- There is a danger in band where one section or instrument might think they are more important than the other and try and play louder so that they can be heard more. This causes the whole song to become a jumbled mess. How can we be careful to remember that we are part of a bigger band than just ourselves, and that others’ parts need to be heard as well?
- In band, if one has a part that seems less important it is easy for them to become disheartened and not want to try, thinking that they wont be heard anyways. How can we remind ourselves that our parts are important? How can we step back and see the bigger picture and how we fit into it?
