Happy Easter! We are so grateful to celebrate Resurrection Sunday with you!
Below is a breakdown of today’s service and message. You can find lyrics to the worship songs we will sing together, notes from today’s message, and break outs for both elementary, middle, high school aged kids. Our goal is to make today’s service as immersive as possible. If you are watching on Facebook or Youtube chat us! We are watching and responding. We can’t wait to hear from you!
We will be partaking in the Lord’s Supper today during our services. We encourage you to celebrate this time at home with your loved ones. You can use crackers or bread and water or juice tomorrow during our time together. Under the circumstances, we believe that participating in the Lord’s Supper together is the most important thing, and are grateful for God’s grace as we worship. During the week, feel free to stop by the office and grab some supplies!

Alive
Hillsong Young, Free
You picked me up, now I’m set apart
From the ash I am born again
Forever safe in the Savior’s hands
You are more than my words could say
I’ll follow You Lord for all my days
I’ll fix my eyes, follow in Your ways
Forever free in unending grace
We lift You higher, lift You higher
Your love, Your love, Your love never ending
Oh oh oh
Nothing can take Your place
You are all we need
Your love has set us free, oh
Let Your love be the shining light
Breaking chains that were holding me
You sent Your Son down and set me free
Everything of this world will fade
I’m pressing on till I see Your face
I will live that Your will be done
I won’t stop till Your Kingdom come
We lift You higher, lift You higher
Your love, Your love, Your love never ending
Oh oh oh
Nothing can take Your place
You are all we need
Your love has set us free, oh
We lift You higher
You are, You are, You are my freedom
We lift You higher, lift You higher
Your love, Your love, Your love never ending
Oh oh oh
Nothing can take Your place
You are all we need
Your love has set us free
Nothing can take Your place
You are all we need
Your love has set us free, oh, oh
So Will I (100 Billion X)
Hillsong Worship
There at the start
Before the beginning of time
With no point of reference
You spoke to the dark
And fleshed out the wonder of light
A hundred billion galaxies are born
In the vapor of Your breath the planets form
If the stars were made to worship so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve made
Every burning star
A signal fire of grace
If creation sings Your praises so will I
You don’t speak in vain
No syllable empty or void
For once You have spoken
All nature and science
Follow the sound of Your voice
A hundred billion creatures catch Your breath
Evolving in pursuit of what You said
If it all reveals Your nature so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You say
Every painted sky
A canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You so will I
So will I
So will I
If the mountains bow in reverence so will I
If the oceans roar Your greatness so will I
For if everything exists to lift You high so will I
If the wind goes where You send it so will I
If the rocks cry out in silence so will I
If the sum of all our praises still falls shy
Then we’ll sing again a hundred billion times
You chased down my heart
Through all of my failure and pride
On a hill You created
The light of the world
Abandoned in darkness to die
A hundred billion failures disappear
Where You lost Your life so I could find it here
If You left the grave behind You so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve done
Every part designed in a work of art called love
If You gladly chose surrender so will I
I can see Your heart
Eight billion different ways
Every precious one
A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I
But what measure could amount to Your desire
You’re the One who never leaves the one behind
King of Kings
Hillsong Worship
Without hope, without light
‘Til from Heaven You came running
There was mercy in Your eyes
To fulfill the law and prophets
To a virgin came the Word
From a throne of endless glory
To a cradle in the dirt
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
And to reconcile the lost
To redeem the whole creation
You did not despise the cross
For even in Your suffering
You saw to the other side
Knowing this was our salvation
Jesus for our sake You died
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
All of Heaven held its breath
‘Til that stone was moved for good
For the Lamb had conquered death
And the dead rose from their tombs
And the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who’d come
To the Father are restored
And the church of Christ was born
Then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old
Shall not kneel, shall not faint
By His blood and in His name
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ
Who has resurrected me, ohh
Praise the Spirit, three in one
God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
I Will Rise
Chris Tomlin
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There’s an anchor for my soul
I can say “It is well”
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles’ wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles’ wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise
“Worthy is the Lamb”
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
“Worthy is the Lamb”
“Worthy is the Lamb”
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
“Worthy is the Lamb”
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles’ wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise
Jesus Messiah
Chris Tomlin
That we might become His righteousness
He humbled himself and carried the cross
Love so amazing, love so amazing
Blessed redeemer, Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners, the ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah, Lord of all
Broken and poured out all for love
The whole earth trembled, and the veil was torn
Love so amazing, love so amazing, yeah
Blessed redeemer, Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners, the ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah, Lord of all
All the glory to You, God, the light of the world
Blessed redeemer, Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners, the ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah, Lord of all
You’re the Lord of all
The Lord of all

Scripture:
John 20:19-31 NIV
19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. 21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” 24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” 26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” 28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” 30 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God and that by believing you may have life in his name.
1 Corinthians 15:54-58 NIV
54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Acts 2:14 NIV
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
1 Corinthians 15:17-21 NIV
17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. 20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
John 10:10 NIV
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
What we can learn that will help us:
– The stone was not rolled away to let Jesus out but to let others in.
– Don’t let fear paralyze you.
– Be bold in your proclamation of who Jesus is.
– This is written for you to have life in His name.
Conclusion:
Blessed is the one who has not seen yet still finds the way to love!
Worship Songs:
Lesson Summary:
Our Wonder lessons have centered around what we can learn from Jesus’ miracles. Today’s miracle is no different, there is so much we can learn from it because this miracle changes everything. Jesus was put on the cross and died so that our sins might die with Him. That act was what freed us from our sin and gave us a relationship with God. Today, we celebrate the complete victory. Jesus raising again puts sin to shame and conquers death, now there is nothing that can overcome us because we are found in Christ! So when we live our lives from here on out, we have to live them differently. We have no choice, because if we believe that Jesus is who He says He is our life must proclaim that and proclaim it boldly as our sermon said. Easter changes everything. Easter is the reason the reason we are forgiven, it has given us life, and we are free today all because of this day. Let us be found in Him and let us proclaim boldly what today means!
Review Activity:
It’s Easter and we want you to celebrate! We know today is different than any Easter we’ve all had before. We’re missing church, we’re missing our friends, but through the unknown God is still faithful and good. We are still free and forgiven, and we still have a reason to celebrate! Choose an activity below that helps you celebrate Easter as a family.
- Easter Egg Hunt. In some of the eggs hide candy, but in some of the eggs hide some truths about who Jesus is and what that means for us! (Don’t have eggs? Just hide the items!)
- Easter Dance Party! Turn on your favorite worship music to dance and sing to as a family! Check out our PTC3 Kids Spotify Playlist to see the songs we normally worship to.
- Easter Snack! Each snack item represents a part of the Easter story. Pretzels for the cross, raisins for Jesus’ blood, M&Ms for the stone rolled away, goldfish for the reminder to be fishers of men, and marshmallows for our sins being washed away!
Discussion Questions:
- How does Easter change everything?
- How can this lesson help you live life differently?
- Is there someone in your life that needs to know the story of Easter? How can you show them the grace and love we’ve been given because of Easter?
Welcome to Real Talk!
Investing in the lives of our students through Real Conversations, with Real People, about Real Hard Questions of Faith.
These past few weeks, we have been trying out something new downstairs on Sunday Mornings. Real Talk was originally the brainchild of Jake Brown, the youth minister at Discovery Christian Church, designed with the hopes of encouraging students to lean into one another as they wrestle through questions about the text, that they may have otherwise just gone to a leader for an answer before looking for themselves. We believe that growth happens when we seek out Christ for ourselves, both individually and in community. Thus, it is the hope of us, here at PTC3, that Real Talk would provide students with an opportunity to take their faith into their own hands, as they invest in their relationship with Jesus, and walk alongside their peers through these questions and conversations.
In light of our temporary shift to online platforms, we are still looking to provide students with the opportunity to dive into the text and explore the faith through these conversations, but with their families now! We encourage each of our students to bring their families into these discussions and wrestle through the questions together, hopefully revealing areas of strength, hope, and growth for the family, as well as the individual. So, join us this week as we dive into John 20:19-31 and explore Jesus and His miracles.
Question #1
It is doubtless that you may have heard the story of Jesus’ resurrection before, but is there anything that stood out this time around that you may have missed before?
Question #2
It says that the disciples hid from the Jewish leaders out of fear of what they would do to them if they found them. Has there ever been a moment in your life when you felt like you would be judged or persecuted for your faith?
Question #3
Jesus’ love goes beyond our fears, and we see this when He appears beside the disciples despite the door being locked. What is it that you fear most when it comes to living a life of faith? How are other people’s presence and Jesus’ comforting?
Question #4
Jesus speaks peace into their lives, reminding them not to let their fear paralyze them. In this crazy time how has God reminded you that He is still moving?
Question #5
Jesus says that, “as god has sent Me, so I send you.” What does this mean? How did God send Jesus and how is He sending us?
Question #6
What does it mean to receive the Holy Spirit? How does receiving the Holy Spirit change our lives?
Question #7
Jesus reminds the disciples of their power to forgive others and how important it is that they do so. Is there anyone in your life that you have been struggling to forgive?
Question #8
Thomas did not see Jesus return, so when the disciples told him that He had risen he did not believe them, saying that unless he saw Jesus himself he would never believe. What does this say about Thomas’ faith? What would you do in his situation, knowing that people would violently persecute you for preaching the gospel?
Question #9
When Jesus reveals Himself to Thomas, He does not condemn him for his disbelief, but invites him to experience the truth. What area of faith are you having trouble coming to terms with? How might God be inviting you to test your faith in that?
Question #10
The purpose of writing all of these stories of Jesus, Luke tells us, is to tell them so that those who did not see them may believe that they happened. How is your life serving as a testimony to who Jesus is?
