It's so good to see you!

Welcome to Church
We are so glad you are here!
Below is a breakdown of today’s service and message. You can find lyrics to the worship songs we will sing together, notes from today’s message, and break outs for both elementary, middle, high school aged kids. Our goal is to make today’s service and immersive as possible. If you are watching on Facebook or Youtube chat us! We are watching and responding. We can’t wait to hear from you!
We will be partaking in the Lord’s Supper today during our services. We encourage you to celebrate this time at home with your loved ones. You can use any bread and water tomorrow during our time together. Under the circumstances, we believe that participating in the Lord’s Supper together is the most important thing, and are grateful for God’s grace as we worship.

This Is How I Fight My Battles
Michael W. Smith
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles
But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
It may look like I’m surrounded
But I’m surrounded by You
Breakthrough
Red Rocks Worship
Crashing over every day
God of mercy, please come rescue me
Gentle whisper in the noise
Father, tell me everything’s all right, yeah
Breaks strongholds, King of Heaven
When You speak, mountains move
I believe there will be breakthrough
And piece by piece restore my heart
Take what’s broken, make it whole again
Breaks strongholds, King of Heaven
When You speak, mountains move
I believe there will be breakthrough
There will be breakthrough
Open the Heavens, Almighty God, You are
Overcomer, Defender of my heart
Your fire falls down, Heaven and Earth collide
King Jesus, forever by my side
Open the Heavens, Almighty God, You are
Overcomer, Defender of my heart,
Your fire falls down, Heaven and Earth collide
King Jesus, forever by my side,
Breaks strongholds, King of Heaven
When You speak, mountains move
I believe there will be breakthrough
Breaks strongholds, King of Heaven
When You speak, mountains move
I believe there will be breakthrough
There will be breakthrough
Oceans
Hillsong UNITED
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine
Sinking Deep
Hillsong Young & Free
In a grace so relentless
I am won
By perfect love
In a peace that lasts forever
Sinking deep
In mercy’s sea
Drawing close
Stirred by grace
And all my heart is Yours
All fear removed
I breathe You in
I lean into Your love
Oh, Your love
Lift my head to see Your glory
Lord of all
So beautiful
Captivated by the splendor
Of Your face
My secret place
Drawing close
Stirred by grace
And all my heart is Yours
All fear removed
I breathe You in
I lean into Your love
Oh, Your love
Is washing over me
Your face is all I seek
You are my everything
You are my one desire
Lord hear my only cry
To know You all my life
Is washing over me
Your face is all I seek
You are my everything
You are my one desire
Lord hear my only cry
To know You all my life
Drawing close
Stirred by grace
And all my heart is Yours
All fear removed
I breathe You in
I lean into Your love
Oh, Your love
Beautiful Things
Gungor
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change, at all
Could all that is lost ever be found?
Could a garden come out from this ground, at all?
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found, in you
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
Oh, you make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
You make me new,
You are making me new
You make me new,
You are making me new
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
Oh, you make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
My Savior My God
Aaron Shust
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at his right hand
Stands one who is my Savior
Christ died to save me: this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my Savior
And for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior
My Savior’s always there for me
My God; He was, my God; He is
My God; is always gonna be
My Strength, my solace from this spring
That He who lives to be my King
Once died to be my Savior
My Savior’s always there for me
My God; He was, my God; He is
My God; is always gonna be

What do we learn from Jesus?
– Prayer is a priority- Jesus puts everything aside to spend time in prayer – if it’s that important for Jesus how important is it for us?
– Jesus offers a simple call- “come” – many of you have heard me say following Jesus is simple just not easy – Jesus says “come follow Me”- but He also tells us that when we do it includes denying self and picking up our cross – simple not easy – getting out of the safety of the boat – simple not easy
– Jesus rescues Peter not because of his faith but because he needs it- all Peter has to do is admit that he cannot save himself
The toughest step for us is to admit that we need a Savior
– Jesus doesn’t wait for Peter to get his act together- Peter cries out and immediately Jesus stretched out His hand – Peter still has a ways to go to get even close to where he needs to be still Jesus responses to his cries for help- in fact Jesus knows this isn’t the last time Peter will sink
What do we learn from Peter?
– Sometimes you have to be willing to get out of the boat- I’m sure Peter was comfortable in the boat, it was an element that he was familiar with and confident of his ability and knowledge- but Jesus doesn’t call us to comfort or to follow our own plan
– Don’t let the world convince you it’s bigger than Jesus- if we’re not careful we can get distracted by things and circumstances that try to get us to believe that they have more power than our King
– Admit that we need a Savior- We all have to admit that we are in over our heads- that there is no way we can get out of this alone
– Don’t focus on the negatives- we all do it but sometimes we need to take the victories, even the small ones- there are 2 people in all of history that have walked on water, Jesus and Peter!
Conclusion:
The call of Jesus is simple, not easy – but it is the path to Life!

Discussion Questions
-
The lesson discussed that prayer is a priority. How can we live this truth out this week?
-
How can you show others that you are taking steps to follow Jesus through this hard time?
-
Peter admitted he needed a savior, and we know we need one too. Part of admitting this is also letting go of our need to control our lives and giving it to Jesus. How can you put this in action?
Welcome to Real Talk!
Investing in the lives of our students through Real Conversations, with Real People, about Real Hard Questions of Faith.
These past few weeks, we have been trying out something new downstairs on Sunday Mornings. Real Talk was originally the brainchild of Jake Brown, the youth minister at Discovery Christian Church, designed with the hopes of encouraging students to lean into one another as they wrestle through questions about the text, that they may have otherwise just gone to a leader for an answer before looking for themselves. We believe that growth happens when we seek out Christ for ourselves, both individually and in community. Thus, it is the hope of us, here at PTC3, that Real Talk would provide students with an opportunity to take their faith into their own hands, as they invest in their relationship with Jesus, and walk alongside their peers through these questions and conversations.
In light of our temporary shift to online platforms, we are still looking to provide students with the opportunity to dive into the text and explore the faith through these conversations, but with their families now! We encourage each of our students to bring their families into these discussions and wrestle through the questions together, hopefully revealing areas of strength, hope, and growth for the family, as well as the individual. So, join us this week as we dive into Matthew 14:22-33 and explore Jesus and His miracles.
Question #1
Before Jesus did anything else, He sent away everyone so that He could pray. How much of a priority has prayer been in your family’s dynamic and in your own life?
Question #2
Jesus sent His disciples ahead of Him. Where has He been sending you?
Question #3
The disciples were sent ahead without Jesus being physically there with them. Have you ever felt like God has been distant to you even while you were doing what He had called you to? What happened?
Question #4
While there was an expectation for Jesus to return, by the time He did show up they all were surprised by His arrival. In what ways has God shown up in your life that surprised you as you followed Him?
Question #5
The disciples were not afraid of the storm this time but were terrified when they saw Jesus approaching them, claiming that He was a ghost. What does their reaction reveal to us about their understanding of who Jesus was?
Question #6
Just as Peter desired to imitate Christ by walking on the waters with Him, what are some ways that you have wanted to be more like Christ? Be Specific.
Question #7
The world around Peter caused him to lose focus on Jesus and he began to sink. In what ways has the world been causing you to “sink,” or grow distracted from Christ?
Question #8
Peter knew that in the midst of the chaos the only hope for him to be saved was for Jesus to pull him out of it. What is it that you feel you need Jesus to save you from or to pull you out of?
Question #9
Jesus immediately pulled Peter up out of danger. Do you believe He can and will pull you up out of your situation? Why or why not?
Question #10
Jesus’ presence immediately brought about peace. How are we seeking to draw closer to Jesus and bring about this peace?
Question #11
How are we moving in our families to be reminders of God’s provision and promise to bring us up out of the chaos that surrounds us?
