Read today’s scripture: Luke 1:5-13
Being a mother and reading this prophecy makes my heart full for Elizabeth and Zechariah. I can imagine that at a time when they both had lost hope; seeing an angel of the Lord before him, Zechariah had to of been afraid. I love that the angel reassures him and tells him that his prayer had been heard. Did you catch that? His prayer had been heard! What a remarkable gift to be validated by an angel of the Lord and it recorded for all the world to read for generations.
I feel like this prophecy is a beacon of hope to all those who feel their voices, thoughts and prayers aren’t heard. I find much comfort in believing that my prayers are heard and are welcomed every second of everyday. I am so thankful that I can call on the Lord in a way that is personal to me and that I know in my heart that he hears me.
