Read today’s scripture: Zechariah 6:12-13
The season of Christmas, as we know it, can be hectic. We have all experienced it– so many things to do; so much seeming responsibility; trying to get everyone together in one place at one time. It seems to me that every year no matter how hard we try it is impossible to get all of our staff and elders together for a night of celebration. Yet, we try, as with so many things in our world, to create one moment of harmony. And it seems that with all of our best efforts it alludes us. Perhaps that is why I enjoy this passage. Look at what it says and enjoy the peace that comes from hearing part of its message. “And there will be harmony between the two.”
Do you hear it? Our King doesn’t look for harmony, He creates it. It is not there might be or there could be harmony, there will be! If you’re looking for some harmony in your hectic life, look no further than your King. It is one of His specialities. The harmony we seek in our lives doesn’t come from our plans or schedules, it comes from listening to the voice of our King and following the plan that He has for our lives.
